Over three hundred years ago, in New-France, the miller of Pointe-du-Moulin took advantage of the Saint-Lawrence river’s dominant winds to make the wings of his windmill turn, and to transform the grains harvested by the inhabitants of the island’s seigneury into flour. Nowadays the wings of the windmill still turn, and we invite you to come spend a day with us to discover its history and the natural beauty of this marvellous site.
One day at Pointe-du-Moulin will allow you to initiate your group to the daily traditions of the eighteenth century, all in the company of our cast of characters and interpreters who have stepped right out of the Seigniorial regime. They will take you on a visit of an exceptional site with breathtaking views of the Saint-Lawrence river and Saint-Louis lake. During your visit you will have the opportunity to explore the windmill, the miller’s house as well as the interpretation centre which allows children to discover the customs and agricultural techniques of New-France’s inhabitants.
A visit to Pointe-du-Moulin is an ideal way to discover our history and culture while enjoying fresh air. Come with us and jump into the eighteenth century at Pointe-du-Moulin
